Three ways I can help with your iOS product

Launching something new, fixing something that exists, or earning more from an app you've already shipped.

Existing app

iOS App Rescue & Modernization

For companies with an iOS app that's holding them back.

  • Legacy UIKit code and step-by-step SwiftUI migration
  • Crashes, performance and stability
  • Outdated dependencies and SDKs
  • App Store rejections and compliance
  • Taking over abandoned apps
  • Architecture that's cheaper to maintain

Starts with: a review of your codebase, crash data and App Store status.

Monetization

iOS Monetization & Subscriptions

Turn an existing iOS app into a properly monetized product.

  • StoreKit 2 and RevenueCat
  • Subscriptions, free trials and introductory offers
  • Paywall design and implementation
  • Purchase restoration and subscription lifecycle
  • Analytics and monetization optimization

Works on: new builds or apps that are already live.

Also available: Apple Watch and watchOS apps, SwiftUI development, and ongoing maintenance. Not sure which fits? Describe your app →

Shipped products, and what each one proves

Every app below is live on the App Store. Each shows a different capability — from hardware integration to multi-market subscriptions.

Civio

Exam prep · Romanian, German & US editions
Challenge
Three countries, three different citizenship tests — different question banks, formats and rules — and one small team to serve all of them.
Solution
One shared engine — quizzes, Leitner-system spaced repetition, exam simulation, progress tracking and subscriptions — configured for each country's official format. Romania's interview module lives in its own component.
Outcome
Three apps live on the App Store: Romanian, German (420+ official BAMF questions) and US (USCIS civics test) editions.
  • Swift
  • Spaced repetition
  • Exam simulation
  • Subscription + lifetime purchase
  • Localization

My Mustang

Owner tools · iPhone, Mac & Apple Vision
Challenge
Mustang owners kept maintenance history in glove-box receipts and half-remembered schedules — a real problem at resale or warranty-claim time.
Solution
A multi-vehicle garage with custom maintenance reminders, a service history with photos and documents, and OBD-II scanner integration for real diagnostic codes.
Outcome
Live on the App Store since February 2026 — free, with a lifetime Pro upgrade. Early reviewers rate it 5.0★.
  • Swift
  • OBD-II scanner
  • Reminders
  • Photos & documents
  • Lifetime Pro purchase

Foaie Parcurs

Fleet trip logs · iPhone
Challenge
Companies that run vehicles still fill in trip logs on paper or in spreadsheets — slow, error-prone and hard to report on.
Solution
A native app for vehicles, drivers and trip logs: stops picked on a map, fuel consumption calculated automatically, monthly statistics, reminders, and PDF and CSV export.
Outcome
Live on the App Store with a PRO tier. Runs entirely on the device — no backend to host or secure.
  • Swift
  • Map-based stops
  • PDF & CSV export
  • Reminders
  • Subscriptions (monthly, yearly, lifetime)
  • On-device data

BreathHold Coach

Health & training · iPhone
Challenge
Freedivers and swimmers needed structured, safe, land-based breath-hold training that adapts to how they actually perform — without creating an account.
Solution
Guided CO₂, O₂ and custom tables with countdowns, haptic and audio cues, adaptive progression, session statistics and achievements, plus optional Apple Health sync.
Outcome
Shipped in 2026 with a dedicated product site. Training data stays on the device; Apple Health sync is opt-in.

Why work with a small, native studio

You're not choosing between agencies. You're choosing who will actually build your app.

Native specialization

Swift, SwiftUI and Apple's frameworks — every day. No cross-platform compromises, and no learning iOS on your budget.

vs. a generalist team

Direct senior involvement

You talk to the engineer who writes the code. No account managers, no hand-offs, no telephone game.

vs. a large agency

Product thinking

Decisions weigh UX, App Store rules, monetization and long-term maintainability — not just the ticket in front of me.

vs. a generic freelancer

End-to-end delivery

Architecture, implementation, testing and App Store submission handled in one place, by one person accountable for all of it.

vs. splitting work across vendors

Small and focused

Low overhead and fast decisions. Time goes into your product, not into meetings about it.

vs. an offshore team

Modern tooling, reviewed

I use AI-assisted tooling to move faster, and every line is reviewed by me before it ships.

What happens after you get in touch

A simple, transparent path from first message to launch — and beyond.

  1. Discovery

I learn about your product, users and business goals, and where you are today.

  2. Scope

We define the MVP or feature set, technical architecture and a delivery plan.

  3. Build

Iterative development with regular builds you can install and comment on.

  4. Test

QA, testing on real devices, performance checks and App Store compliance.

  5. Launch

App Store preparation, submission and release.

  6. Iterate

Post-launch improvements, analytics and additional features.

An independent iOS studio led by an experienced iOS engineer

ISTACK is an independent native iOS studio helping startups and businesses design, build, launch and improve high-quality iPhone and Apple Watch applications. I'm Mădălin Săvoaia — I lead every project and write the code myself.

I've been building iOS apps since 2015, and I also ship my own products: 26+ apps on the current App Store account, from fitness and travel to fleet tools and exam prep. That means I know first-hand what it takes to get an app through App Review, into users' hands and, where it makes sense, earning revenue.

Projects are delivered remotely. I'm based in Romania (UTC+2/+3), which overlaps fully with European working hours and partly with the US East Coast.
